He is most popular ghazal singer of Pakistan .He has been the recipient of numerous awards Tamgha-i-Imtiaz , Pride of Performance and Hilal-i-Imtiaz conferred Presidents of Pakistan .He began his film career in 1956 and his last film as playback singer was released in 2000.
